Making my way through the bamboo forest as I search for meteorites near West, Texas.
My name is Ruben Garcia, and I’m a meteorite dealer/ collector. I was born in Durango, Colorado and raised in a small town in Northern New Mexico, called Aztec. I left small town life in my early 20's for the bright lights of Phoenix Arizona to pursue a music career.
In this video I combine my love of guitar with meteorites
It was while living in Phoenix that I was introduced to meteorites and the fact that one could actually own a rock from outer-space, a true extraterrestrial object.
I immediately became so fascinated with meteorites that I vowed to find one for myself. Within about two weeks I found my first meteorite and I've never looked back.

I have dealt in meteorites for over 16 years and it’s been a wonderful ride. I’ve been featured in many books and magazines, like Sky and Telescope, Iguana, Meteorite Times, and even the latest book by O. Richard and Dorothy Norton, called “What’s so Mysterious about Meteorites?”

I’ve also appeared in such TV shows as, Meteorite Men, Nova Science NOW, Cash and Treasures, and the United Stats of America with Hosts “The Sklar Brothers”. Of course, I’ve also been the subject of newspaper articles all across the country, not to mention various NPR and BBC radio shows.
